Who this is for

Four common starting points. Pick the one that sounds like you and we will route you to the right service.

1 I am looking for chemistry support. Falling behind, staying on pace, or pushing for a top grade. 2 I am pre-professional and uncertain. Doing fine on paper, but not sure what path is right for me. 3 I am building a competitive application. Strong grades, ready for research and admissions prep. 4 I am interested in prep/review. A structured curriculum to prepare for the next semester.

Support. Develop. Enable.

This is what chemistry mentorship looks like in practice. Not just surviving a class, but building the knowledge, direction, and skills to succeed long after it.

"The chemistry help you need today. The mentorship to build what comes next."

Chemistry education that builds students, not burnout.

Founder · 2026 Dr. Eric Wolfson

My purpose is to be a trusted ally: to champion your success and to help you build the skills, resources, and network you need to thrive in whatever comes next.

Principle 01 · Chemistry Support

The issue isn't access to tools.

Students have access to drop in tutoring, YouTube, and AI, and yet the majority still struggle. That's because students don't need more tools. They need an expert who can see where they're stuck and a coach who builds the strategies that fit how you learn.

Principle 02 · Mentorship

One person who knows your science, your story, and your path.

Tutors don't know your career goals. Consultants can't train you on research skills. I built My Chem Mentor to fix that: one expert alongside you across the whole arc, from your first hard exam to your final interview.

A decade of teaching. A career of chemistry.

What changed

Shannon came in borderline burned out, studying 30+ hours per week for organic chemistry. She was scraping by with a C- and had an exam coming up. After 3 sessions, it became clear: She was highly intelligent and passionate about chemistry, but she was having trouble connecting concepts to the structures on the page, which was causing a ripple effect that set her up for failure. So, we decided on the best session structure for her schedule and rebuilt her conceptual foundation while also preparing with test-level questions. By week 3, she was spending less time studying and her scores on the exam and quizzes boosted her overall grade to a B+. Midway through the semester, she mentioned she wasn't sure if she wanted to pursue a PhD in Chemistry or a PharmD, so we discussed career paths and I connected her with my pharmacist contact to learn about the field. She confidently picked Pharmacy, and today she is excitedly finishing her semester so she can start her top pick Pharmacy program (ranked #4 in the nation) this fall.

"Oh my God I have the highest grade."

169 / 175 on Midterm #2. Class median: 145. From scraping by with a C- to top of the class by changing her study methods, not the time she put in.

Teaching Philosophy

Students don't leave STEM because they aren't capable. They leave because they don't feel supported. Every session is built around meeting students where they are, building confidence alongside competence.

The goal is to reduce burnout and improve retention in STEM and pre-professional programs by treating students as whole people with real futures, not just problems to solve.

A working chemist who became a dedicated educator.

I earned my PhD in Organic Chemistry from The Ohio State University and my B.S. from UMBC. I've spent the better part of a decade bridging the gap between classroom chemistry and the real world while preparing students to face a job market that is borderline hostile to new graduates.

After completing my doctorate, I joined DuPont's Electronics & Imaging division, researching and developing next-generation semiconductor technologies. As a member of hiring panels, mentor to junior scientists, and supervisor of technicians, I know what chemistry careers actually look like from the inside.

Across my ~10 years of teaching experience, I have helped countless STEM and pre-health students, many of them exceptionally intelligent and hard working, navigate their way out of chronic burnout and overstudying in their chemistry courses while at the same time improving their grades. Better yet, I have helped them better understand themselves, their goals, and how to approach making those goals a reality along the way.
