Dr. Eric Wolfson, PhD
Founder & mentor - organic chemistry
I am a scientific professional with a PhD in organic chemistry who, for the better half of the last decade, has been woefully unsuccessful at stepping away from teaching. After graduating from The Ohio State University, I entered into industry R&D and believed my tutoring days to be behind me. It quickly became apparent they were, in fact, not. As it turned out, the passion and joy I felt around helping my students understand a subject that often causes so much frustration drew me back semester after semester. As I became more familiar with the professional world, I also began offering insights and direction outside of the bachelor degree bubble. Piece by piece, I accidentally built a stable side-business that I found myself enjoying more than my day job, and I couldn’t quite call it simply “tutoring” anymore. Now, I find myself prepared to follow this passion as far as it will take me.
When you work with me, you can expect exceptional care and a genuine dedication to your success as a student. A brief phone call will allow us to connect, and my >1500 hours of teaching experience helps me understand your unique situation quickly so we can go into our first session confident that you are in good hands. I value being accessible by email to answer your questions thoroughly and in a timely manner, being flexible to adapt to your schedule, and being a champion of your success both inside and outside of the classroom.

Dr. Matthew Gray, PhD
mentor - General Chemistry
I am a scientific professional with a PhD in inorganic chemistry and a strong passion for new experiences. When I am not brewing craft beers at home, crushing trivia night, or playing fetch with my dog Pepsi (no relation), I design adhesives for the electronics industry as a Sr. Product Development Chemist. I have over 500 hours of teaching experience in general chemistry courses at the college level, and I continue to enjoy working with students as a side-passion. I am excited to work alongside Eric to bring high-quality coaching to general chemistry students looking to succeed.
Working with me means understanding the fundamentals and how they tie into the broader concepts covered in general chemistry courses. I work to establish a solid foundation to build upon so you can focus less on fearing the equations and focus more on understanding the chemistry. In my experience, good grades have been a natural consequence of consistent instruction and improved confidence.
